So I'm trying to make this mixwit tape of a handful of my favorite show tunes. I figure it'll be nice to have that around whenever I'm alone and have the urge to belt. Only, I can't find any of the ones I want to use. It was so frustrating that I just saved the thing for later.

Half of the music I listen to is from bands that have like, 8 fans. How on earth is it harder to find Lena Horne? It's Lena Horne!!

In particular, the lack of soundtracks from modern musicals on the net is particularly mystifying. Come on, there's a lot of net-savvy theater school students out there. I guess they must be too busy making videos of themselves singing for youtube. (Where modern musicals are fairly well represented, ironically enough. All that audio and none of it for the hotlinking.)

So to vent my frustration, I decided to post here a few of my favorites from newer shows, on and off Broadway, that if it weren't for youtube and a few somewhat fanatic friends, I might never have heard of.
